AT BERKSHIRE, THERE IS NO FINISH LINE
In the 2022 letter to shareholders, one of Warren Buffett’s best quotes was, “At Berkshire, there will be no finish line.“
BEEN is not a fund. We don’t exist for just 10 years, to create a short-term growth spurt, gain a profit for our investors, and disappear from the world. Instead, our support model includes some core ideas from Berkshire Hathaway, with the central core that we’re a perpetual, permanent, financial redistribution, support supplier. Or in more concrete terms, that we exist to help Black people and portfolio companies grow, for as long as they want to keep growing.
The biggest hurdle to growing the Black economy is strategic capital. This holding company support model is the simplest path to fill the capital gap all the way from your everyday Black person to small-but-growing Black business.
At BEEN, there is no finish line either.
Our team provides over 20 years of experience in business analysis, education, marketing strategy development, program management, mass media, community organizing, grassroot organizing, urban development and project management. We are committed to providing accessible resources for all Black communities in need.
We must explore our own development paths ideal for treating people equally and seeking the common good for all humankind.

Our mission is to empower and uplift the Black community through support and education. We believe in breaking cycles of trauma, poverty, violence, disease, discrimination, dependency on government programs, and philanthropy designed to make Black people globally a permanent underclass. With our commitment to Black liberation and self-determination as guiding principles, we strive for freedom by providing knowledge that enables agency and opportunity against systemic oppression.

We believe that all Black people should have at least three guarantees and two assurances. The guarantees are safe housing, health care, and education. The two assurances are healthy nutritious food and clothing. Black people in the USA and the Diaspora have the ability to sustain ourselves.
BEEN plans to build state-of-the-art empowerment centers across the country that teach mass skill development and intergenerational mobility strategies for life and survival for Black communities in the United Snakes of Amerikkka and the Diaspora. BEEN plans to enable the knowledge, agency and the opportunity to fight back against and end systemic oppression, end capitalism, end white power structures/racism, and liberate all Black people to help facilitate Pan-African unity and Nation Formation.
We plan to offer our programs in-person and remotely to reach Black people throughout the USA and the Diaspora.
